It isn't hyperbole to say that Woodson was one of the most influential people in my life. All I knew was that he was a superhuman who played for Michigan. I was 9 years old and Woodson had yet to begin his Heisman campaign. I didn't even know what position Woodson played.

CHARLES WOODSON RAIDERS FULL

He threw his full weight into the word GREAT, too, and he didn't hedge by saying Woodson was GOING TO BE GREAT or that he was GREAT for a cornerback. When he told me about Charles Woodson, he didn't say that Woodson was a player he liked, but a GREAT player - full stop. He will retire a Raider and will go down in the HOF as another one of the great Raider defensive backs. My father states his opinions like facts. He will always remember how great it felt to be part of the Raiders. Woodson experienced that with the Raiders early in his career and missed most of our bad years. Once they are part of it they realize how great it feels to be part of the organization. That's how great they were." It's kinda like how all these players who go to New England even tho most of the league hates them. I always said if I wasn't a Redskin I wanted to be a Raider. It's like no other organization and what they represent and their jerseys, I was always enamored by it.

CHARLES WOODSON RAIDERS TV

I remember seeing a TV special about the Raiders legacy and one thing that always stayed with me was when they had Joe Theisman talking about the Raiders and he said "I always wanted to be a Raider. They took care of their players and Al Davis was one of the best owners before he started his decline this past decade. Of course the Raiders have had bad years since that superbowl loss but everyone seems to forget before that the team had such a great legacy and players loved playing for Al Davis and the Raiders. It's just a special feeling and once you fall in love with it you never forget it. He also said how much he loved to put the silver and black back on. When he came back he just knew he had to stay and sign a contract after seeing all the love and support Oakland showed him even after so many years. He got to experience success in Oakland early in his career and was enamored with the fans and the legacy of the team. No disrespect to Packer fans but I feel like the Raiders have the best fans. He loves the Raiders and loves being a Raider. I know he spent his prime in Green Bay but the fact the we drafted him and He came back makes Green Bay seem like a small stint in the middle of his career even tho it was 7 years. he came back to Oakland and will retire with us.
